    Welcome to your Skillnet Ireland training programme. This Trainee Profile Form is used by Skillnet Ireland and Lean & Green Skillnet (the "Learning Network") to collect profile information relating to participants on training programmes partially or fully funded by Skillnet Ireland from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills (DES).

    We ask you to complete this Form where you will share certain personal details. At the end of your Skillnet Ireland training programme you will be asked to complete a Reaction to Learning Form. The data you provide is invaluable to our continued efforts to provide a wide range of relevant and desirable training programmes, to communicate with you, and to enable us to operate effectively.

    Skillnet Ireland and the Learning Network will comply with all applicable Data Protection Legislation in the processing of the information and personal data provided by you in this Form and the Reaction to Learning Form. Your data will be processed in line with the Skillnet Ireland Trainee Privacy Statement which you can access on the Skillnet Ireland website:

    Your information will be shared with third parties in certain specific circumstances:

    • for the purposes of delivering Skillnet Ireland training programmes via the Learning Network

    • for the purpose of conducting surveys to evaluate the quality and impact of the programmes delivered by the Learning Network. For such surveys, you may be contacted at some point in the future (no longer than 24 months following completion of your training with the Learning Network) either by telephone or email
    • for the purpose of providing DES with statistical information to help inform national policy in relation to skills. Only aggregated and statistical data will be reported to the DES.

    Programme overview

    The Lean Utilities Programme, in conjunction with the University of Limerick, has been developed with the support of the EPA, I2E2 National Competence Centre and leading multinational and indigenous firms to embed lean methodologies and utility management tools in the fabric of the organisation.  

    Why This Programme/Programme Benefits:
    The Programme consists of formal training and a series of company projects, each of which typically delivers €50k to €100k+ of annual savings.
    Reduce Costs – This programme will provide trainees with the knowledge and skills to identify, deliver and track verified resource efficiency savings at their site.
    Flexible Learning – Using our online learning platform, learners can study anytime and anywhere. 
    Funding – Funding support of up to 40% may be available for qualifying companies.
    Learn from Leaders – This innovative programme has been developed with the support of leading Research Centres and organisations in Ireland. 

    Who is this programme for?
    This programme is aimed at individuals looking to acquire or develop lean six sigma skills in order to embark on, or participate in, a Lean Utilities improvement initiative. 

    Online Modules 

    The Lean Utilities programme is comprised of 8 online modules following the DMAIC process. Case study examples are used to demonstrate practical application of the tools.

    – Module 3: Define Phase
    – Module 4: Measure Phase
    – Module 5: Analyse Phase
    – Module 6: Improve/Control Phase
    – Module 7: Creating A3 Reports
    – Module 8: Assignment 

    Workshop Webinars 
    Online mentoring and support workshops for the development of your A3 project report as well as providing peer to peer learning opportunities. 

    Develop an A3 Project Report
    In the final module, participants will demonstrate key learnings by developing an A3 workplace project report of your choice which aims to deliver verified and sustainable cost savings to the firm.
